The somnolent air was breezing its way through the early spring day. Laying on the dewy morning grass like a glass idol on a marble stand, Danielle was talking to herself in a drowsy like fashion. This is an habit Danielle had adapted lately. When no one understands you and you have no one to talk to you always have you.
"This isn't easy" she whispered to herself.Sometimes when she whispered to herself she felt like she was on the verge of turning crazy like that Isaac kid.Reinventing wasn't as easy as Danielle had hoped. Usually people decide to reinvent themselves but this was a forced reinvention the universe was forcing her to go through. The quietness of Arena was making her thoughts gaseous and being alive boring. Death seemed more exciting.
She was now boring herself to sleep as she tried but failed to materialize her thoughts."Prospero" she said drowsily and dreamily.
Prospero was the name of the city where Danielle used to live.Prospero, unlike Arena, was vibrating with exuberant energy, fast paced living, unwarranted busyness, glamorous houses and plastic homes. In her state of subconsciousness, Danielle was succeeding in materializing memories of her last day at Prospero, the inglorious exit.

* * * *
In the past whenever Danielle had imagined leaving Prospero, not that she imagined it quite often, but once in a blue moon when it cross her mind she imagined something different.She imagined a "surprise" farewell party hosted by Macy, Paula and her other minions.he imagined everyone hugging and crying and everybody urging to sing for them once last time before she left.She imagined leaving in a black limo , waving goodbye to her glamorous empire. But reality never did go along with Danielle's wishes in fact it seems nature is always doing the exact opposite, always.As a result Danielle was always tasked with creating her own reality.
The inglorious exit was an unexpected as it was expected. Mrs. Samantha Marist, Danielle's mom had gone bankrupt again and she was fired . Without her salary or her kind of salary there was no way she could afford anything. Thus she, her non-English speaking husband and children except Danielle had to be deported back to their home country, Libya.
Being the only American citizen in the family, Danielle was blessed and cursed by remaining in America. Her empire, Prospero High and her kingdom in Prospero were both snatched away from her faster than you could say "spoiled brat got served".
Mrs. Marist had decided not to tell her children about the bankruptcy or the expired visas so all this deportation was news to Danielle and her siblings. It always sickened Danielle how her mother hid things she should know from her. Like when her mother, Samantha, was wrongly diagnosed with cancer. She said nothing about the diagnosis until she was told the diagnosis was wrong. Everyone was happy but really upset, especially Danielle. They were obviously happy because the diagnosis was wrong but upset because they knew if it wasn't she wouldn't have told them about it. Mr. Marist, almost divorced her because he was fed up with her secrets but his language barrier wouldn't allow him.Her mom had an amazing poker face and not telling her children that they would be deported seems like something she would do by instinct..
Danielle's family members were deported, her brothers in the middle of the school day. The word of her family's deportation spread throughout the school like wild fire.That was the beginning of the end of her reign.
Danielle was trying to make sense of what was happening.She called her brothers many times, she texted her mom many times but no reply. She was scared and she wasn't really sure what deportation meant.But at the eight period things were starting to make sense .Danielle's ancient aunt, Hope came to pick Danielle to live in an even more ancient town called Arena.
Called in the middle of Social Ethics, Danielle was called to Principal's office. Still trying to make sense of her brother's deportation, Danielle went to the Principal's office hoping to find answers not Aunt Hope with a garbage bag telling her to go empty her locker. She wasn't expecting Aunt Hope to drive her home so she could collect her belongings and was ready to drive her to heavenly hell called Arena.
As she entered her Aunt's Le Car,Danielle glanced one more time at her beautiful mansion , where a fantastic plastic home once existed. Rushed into a new life, Danielle didn't get a chance to say goodbye to the old one, not like she would have wanted to. Danielle doesn't remember her last view of Prospero High, everything was happening so quickly that Danielle felt she was watching a horrible movie and none of this would happen to her.She was moving so quickly she didn't even get a chance to cry yet.
Pride wouldn't let her contact her fellow queen bees and ever loving minions at Prospero High. Reproach got in the way of her mourning. Once they got into the car, on their way to Arena, everything was finally slowing down.Her Aunt was now explaining what everything to her, she wanted to cry but the tears just wouldn't come.
"Goodbye city lights, Goodbye beautiful mansions, Goodbye active fate , i'll miss you gravely" she said watching from the glass windows as Prospero slipped away from her hands.Finally a tear fell fro her face, finally, she was proving to herself that that Isaac kid was wrong about her being heartless. "Oh honey, it will be fine, don't cry" Aunt Hope said as she started crying. It was sad and later Aunt Hope parked so they could both cry and console each other.
That night Danielle did anything but sleep. She tossed, she cried, she sung, she cursed at everything then she cried again.Even with Arena's somnolent air , sleep strayed several miles away from her.She spoke to her mother when they landed in Libya and then she really let it out. There was nothing she did't call her and after she calmed down and then asked to speak to her father.Then she started crying and muffling word together , the only thing she could fully say was " Ana B hibbak". Her brothers were having tantrums in the background.Yelling how much they hate their parents and how it wasn't fair Danielle got to stay.The tears weren't coming but the anger was brewing.
